Let's do the Charleston!

So my research into the 1920's have been proving harder than I expected! Everywhere I look has stuff on the thirties and onwards. I am amazed that such an exciting decade seems to be of little interest to people! However I have come across a gem in the shape of a little book dedicated to 1920's imagery, 450 pages to be precise, I am hoping it leads me onto other areas of the 20's into which I can research, but for now I am in love with the amazing pictures it contains!

1920's

I have begun researching into the 1920's for my next collection and have found some really interesting things!

This is a programme for a play called 'mercenary mary' that showed in the London hippodrome in 1925. It's full of interesting adverts and details of the play!

This is an advert for hair curlers! Amazing!

And an etiquette manual!

These are my finds so far and I hope to share lots more with you, along with my journey right through to the fashion show!

On to the next one . . .

So it was only just a few weeks ago that my last collection stormed the runway . . but it is time to start the process all over again! I have thought long and hard about what to use for inspiration for my next collection, and have finally decided on the Roaring Twenties! There is so much to look at with the prohibition, art deco, flapper girls and silent movies to mention a few! Cannot wait to get started! I love researching new subjects!

Maid for Marching

My collection inspired by military and wartime, modelled by the beautiful Jenny Evans, Alice Thompson and Valentine Greenough!

Fashion Show!

It was such an amazing feeling seeing my work go down the catwalk, a whole years work finally realised! And my amazing models Valentine, Jenny and Alice absolutely owned the runway!
