Zandra Rhodes collaborates with Strutt Couture

The fabulous Zandra Rhodes and Strutt Couture have worked together to design a collection of must have shoes, pictured above are my personal favourites (£160) I love how cleverly the two-tone leather has been worked. This particular pair are set to feature in the SATC2 film out in cinemas on may 27th, which may I add, I cannot wait for! So if you want to beat Carrie at her own game, get your own pair from my-wardrobe or try these look-a-like's from Faith, which are under half the price at just £70.

The Blogging Phenomena

This last week has been the beginning of something big for me, I have been introduced to the seductive world of blogging and now I cannot seem to get enough of it! My mind has been constantly buzzing with new ideas and thoughts to post. Its no wonder that it has become such a big thing recently, blogs are as much fun to read as they are to write, inspiring more and more people to express their virtual selves to anyone who wishes to 'follow' them, and oh boy do people follow them! The authors of 'must-click' blogs are becoming so popular that they achieve celebrity status, job offers and in the case of Tavi, front row seats at some of the hottest fashion shows going.

I was so glad to find www.thestylerookie.com up and running again this morning. It turns out that Tavi's blog was grounded because of the 'naked birthday' photo which has now been removed and been replaced by the message " ( photo removed as it violated Blogger's 'terms of service' [adult content, Racy!] so uh oops.) " and also because she didn't credit a Miu Miu dress she was lent to wear in a photograph. Lets just hope that Tavi has learnt her lesson, and as a beginner it has certainly made me more aware of the do's and dont's of blogging.

Style Rookie in Trouble

I suspect that I am not the only one who was unexpectedly greeted with this message today . . ."This blog is under review due to possible blogger terms of service violations and is open to authors only" I have only just started and already I'm hooked on Tavi Gevinsons inspirational blog. What is it about this 14 year old child that is so addictive? I have typed in her blog address so many times today, first of all to check i hadn't made a typo and then every hour or so to check if she was back up and running! It has been reported that even Tavi Herself is not sure as to why it is under review, there are several possibilities including the 'naked birthday girl' image she posted just recently. There is also speculation over use of copyrighted material in her blog, despite the huge amount of free advertisement her blog provides for designers! I think that you will all agree with me, when I ask of Blogger ,. . .Give us Tavi back, please!

Channeling Celebrity Style

This girl really caught my eye while I out and about on a shopping spree today, I really love her look, but was it because I've seen it before? I thought to myself.....we really channel celebrity

style and take so much influence from it, sometimes without even realising. Mimi (such an amazing name!) blatantly channeled 'style icon' Alexa Chung, but has managed to recreate the look on a budget and she wasn't ashamed to admit that the blazer was from a charity shop which is very refreshing and I just love the flash of red lining. Although I would have added a chunky gold necklace to complete the look. I think its fun to channel a celebrity look but I always try to make it my own, we don't want too many Alexa Chungs running around, there is already one too many!

How does this work?

I have just been introduced to the world of blogging, I'm a fashion degree student and believe it or not this is a project we have been set! although I plan to carry on with it afterwards too...I spend an extortionate amount of my student loan on my wardrobe, I have an obsession with hunting out designer labels whether that be TKmaxx, ebay or my local charity shop, and I hope to share details of my finds with you,and hope you can return the favour!...I have an interest in photography too so I will be posting some of my fashion photography and also look forward to my posts of the good, the bad and the ugly of street style.
