Fashion Show

This summer my university put on an amazing fashion show to display all of the students hard work to the paying public! I was lucky enough to get to photograph the work as it came down the catwalk. The show was so succesful that we have decided to put on another one this year , only it is set to be bigger and better than last year! More details to come but for now, here are a few highlights from this years show . . .

New Line for Karen Millen

For my fashion marketing project I had to choose a brand to research into and find a new direction for it to go in. So I chose Karen Millen to look at and I found that they didn't sell underwear or men's wear. So I decided to 'introduce' a line of underwear to the Karen Millen brand. . . Here are my research boards

Karen Millen

This is the mood board that I created for my fashion marketing project on Karen Millen , It represents what the company is about and commont traits of the collections . . enjoy . . .

Who am I?

For my fashion marketing project I was asked to create a mood board representing myself, so I thought instead of using magazine tear-outs I would just take pictures of things that I own.

Sex And The City 2

Spoiler Alert!
Sex and the City Trailer

Ahhhh! . . . I finally got tickets to see the greatly anticipated Sex And The City 2 with my BFF! I was just as excited to see what the girls were wearing as I was to see the film. It was just as fabulous and flamboyant as the first film, if not more so! Opening with an over-the-top, elegant, gay wedding scene, you can tell from the start that the film that it will be effortlessly stylish throughout. My favourite bit has to be when Samantha has a nervous breakdown in a market place in Abu Dhabi. A man breaks her Hermes Berkin handbag, spilling all of the contents onto the floor including a ton of condoms, which in Abu Dhabi you can be arrested for! But instead of hiding them away, she waves them in the men's faces screaming YES!! I HAVE SEX!! SEXXX!!!! Haha! comedy genius!

Anyy way . . . back to the fashion . . .So here are some of my favourite clothes from the film!

One the first glimpses of the fashion to come was the Promotional poster featuring Carrie in Emilio Pucci. I absolutely love the print . . . very Abu dhabi!

Ooh what do we have here?! Miranda in Chrisitan Louboutin Heels and Bottega Venetta dress. Carrie wearing a Halston Heritage dress teamed with a Chanel clutch and Christian Louboutin heels. Samantha working her look around the $1,300 VBH Palm clutch! and finally Charlotte in a Christian Dior suit and matching bag! Yummy!

Blogging

I have been researching into the world of blogging so that I can gain inspiration on how to better my own blog and also to discover other great blogs to follow and share with you. Here are my findings . . .

One of the very first blogs that I came across was that of Tavi Gevinson who is the genius behind the well known blog ,
style rookie. She started writing her blog at the age of just 11 and started in the same way as many other bloggers, with a simple introduction. She wrote. . . "Well I am new here.... Lately I've been really interested in fashion, and I like to make binders and slide shows of "high-fashion" modeling and designs. I'd like to know of neat websites and magazines, so comments are welcome. I plan on posting pictures in the future, but for now, I'm just getting started. Yours truly, Tavi" At this point there was no indication of what was to come for her! she posts many pictures of herself dressed up in kooky outfits and also a lot of images that she likes and wants to share with her followers. Now just two years on she has become internationally known for her inspirational style and must-read blog. She has managed to make a career out of blogging,The fashionista sat on front row at New York Fashion week and even sells her own T-shirts!

Although she is not the only one to have invaded the front row! Fashion blogger
BryanBoy was one of the first. He sat on front row at Dolce & Gabbana last September, next to Anna Wintour (US vogue editor-in-chief) who was reported to be not very happy about it! His blog is really good fun and light - hearted, he seems to travel a lot which makes his blog all the more interesting to read.

Another male blogger that caught my attention was Dan Hasby-Oliver who writes men's fashion blog Last Style of Defense. His blog mainly introduces new photographers and designers to his readers, he has made his way into the fashion world through blogging and has already attended Paris fashion week. so needless to say, he has achieved quite a lot since starting his blog just under a year ago, in July 2009!

Although I have to say my favourite blog for all the celeb goss, pics and 'you were thinking it we are just saying it' commentary has to be The Style Bitches. The Blog is written by Blanaid Hennessy and Laura Cunningham who started the blog in January 2009 and they cast their opinion on all the latest fashion trends and the celebs who are wearing it. Their style of writing and knowledge has made the bloggers really successful in such a short space of time! This blog is a must-click!

Comments please! :) x x x

Street Style: Sandals

Its sooo hot today, the sun has finally decided to make an appearance, but probably not for long :( so it is a perfect excuse for getting your sandals on! This season the must-wear pairs are pretty much like gladiator sandals but just smaller! so while out shopping I have taken a few snaps of my favourite pairs to give you some inspiration!
